In spring 2025, we received an invitation from the Kalkbreite cooperative to plan and build a temporary installation on the public terrace at Zollhaus. During the Women's European Football Championship, a small covered area was to be created where residents and visitors could gather around a tablesoccer. As time and financial resources were limited, we focused less on an extravagant construction and more on its “decoration.” Twelve hand-sewn flags made from fabric offcuts in the Swiss national colors stand in contrast to national symbolism and represent the specific feminist aims of their designers. For this participatory project, we chose a medium that addresses a smaller group and allows for a more intimate, quieter setting—in other words, a framework in which conversations about feminist topics can arise.
